Independent Appraisal
Why I'm closed
1. Two books are out of print because the author is in jail, see
http://www.livetaxfree.com/news.htm .
2. Some books no longer work because laws have changed such as the patriot act,
etc. and although I was not receiving many returns or complaints I felt it was
time to close as it did not seem ethical to sell a book that gave outdated
info.
3. I was approached by the IRS in 2004 and although they can't form a case
against the company and I haven't broke any laws, I can't afford and don't have
the time or inclination to get in to a fight with the government if they ever
do. Similar sites have been attacked such as Irwin Schiff and he is also in
jail.
4. Web site produced about $30,000 in gross sales per year for 10 years, but the
materials that I sold are not for sale for reasons stated above.
5. What is being sold is the URL only, it still gets about 30,000 hits per
month. Someone could use this site as a jump off for other tax reduction books,
or a tax protest site (I would caution against it though. A simple blog
would be fine I think. Or books that give approved methods of tax
reduction such as Nevada corps ect...)
6. Make a reasonable offer. I was spending one day per week selling books off
this site and making an extra one to two grand profit per month (Documentation
available to serious buyers). I think a person with the right motivation could
do much better.
7. I'm in the process of getting an appraisal from
www.accuratedomains.com and expect
it on 5/21/08
